Aussie BBQ Legends

At the family gathering for Boxing Day (for Christmas and my brother's birthday) my brother set the outdoor BBQ up (a very large hotplate over a pit filled with wood and paper). We all bought out the 10 kilos of meat, chicken and seafood in the styrfoam plates and packaging. All the food and onions, potatos and sweet potatos were tossed on the BBQ, and cooking away sweetly. My sister in law went around cleaning up all the paper ett and threw it all in the pit, styrofoam included as well as the peices of varnished wood we used to put the hot plate on later to wash. Between the black smoke, the toxic smells from the varnish and everyone coughing so badly we couldn't see from the watery eyes, we finally got the fire out. Surfice to say the blackened and smelly food was thrown out and we went to the bay for fish and chips!!!
