BP zoom+engineering student+flame=BBQ
Back at Uni a group of us were at a house warming BBQ when it settled in rain. Fortunately the boys had a big garage that we could shelter in. However the old BBQ was outside and it was a simple brick one with a hot plate on top and a chimney. After little success with soggy newspaper and matches it was decreed by some that grass clippings would work as a fire starter. These seemed to just create masses of smoke and smoulder away. Then success, one of the boys, an engineering student found an old tin of mower fuel. After dowsing the clippings in it he insisted on someone handing him a lighter. With an outstretched arm towards the now heavily smoking mass he edged towards the BBQ. When he finally got close enough the fumes caught and a fireball erupted out and enveloped his head. We were all unsure if we should laugh or call for help. He quickly turned and dived in the pool that was in close vicinity. Upon his emergence he was greeted to bellows of laughter from everyone in attendance. To which he quipped, "I may not have any eyebrows, but at least the barbie is going!" Please do not let a semi inebriated engineering student near anything that resembles an old wood BBQ with petrol and matches.
