BBQ legend (in training)
I am finally moving out of home and into a new house with my boyfriend, however this fairytale is not quite picture perfect, given that until 3 months ago both my partner and I have never cooked a meal in our lives! The cooking classes began with my sister teaching me about Indian cuisine, and my mum educating me about the Italian way of cooking, sadly my aloo gobi and vegetarian lasagne were epic fails. It wasn't until my Dad (resident BBQ legend) showed me the wonders of the BBQ that I really found a passion for cooking. I admit that my first week was filled with the occasional blunders... too much salt in the marinade, too much salmonella in the chicken, but now 3 months on I believe that the student has surpassed the master. My family goes bananas for my BBQ stir-fry, chunky potato wedges, and good old steak salad, and it's comforting to know that when I do fly away from the nest in March 2010 I will be able to entertain friends with some Aussie BBQ wonders.

I'm not exactly sure who "Cortex" is but I don't understand why he/she would ask ppl to vote thumbs down.
