Aussie BBQ Legends

I must start by telling u i was 15 just back to aus didnt know much slang then. GET ON WITH IT U SAY, ok i was invited to a friends bbq, i enquired if i had to bring any thing i was told "just a plate." this left me wondering why a plate, maybe they hadn;t enough at home to feed us all. So i did what . They would have all cracked up as asked and brought a plate knife and fork,When i turned up had no idea why every one was staring at me just sat down with plate and cutlery they would have all cracked up when i left as i do now . OK OK i now know plate was surposed to have food on it, but come on A Plate was a Plate then, Glad i know slang now and always take meat and grog to bbq now but that was the and this is now. go on have a good laugh we all did what a dummy i was
